“If someone shows you who they really are, believe them.” – Maya Angelou
Goodness. That really says it right there, doesn’t it?
If someone shows you who they really are, believe them.
Though I can’t say I’ve spent a lot of time poring over the works of Maya Angelou, this quote’s always resonated with me. I heard it roughly 100 times in my 20s during a crappy relationship from which I couldn’t seem to extricate myself (shout to to my best friend Melissa for always repeating the line to me (!)… even if she did credit Dr. Phil for the sage advice).
Here’s to always listening to that inner voice in your head, and to a great week these next few days.
xoxo,
ahhh love this. wise words, indeed.
Why do I feel like you’re talking to me? 🙂 Love you!
Stephanie, good advice! She just may be talking to you…I am. Actions speak louder than words. I hope they are better, improved, sincere actions! You know what I’m takin’ about. Be very thoughtful and follow your gut, not your heart on this one!
I love you both. And I extra love you because I know your care/concern and advice comes from only the best place. But at this point, I got it and I am going with my own gut: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/221380137907621255/
