Chin Up Buttercup

I realize motivation posts are supposed to go up on Motivation Mondays, and this one’s a smidge somber (sahhhree), but I wanted to share the quote below that I just ran across. There are a few special people I adore (you know who you are) who are in the throes of taking an emotional, unwarranted beating at the hand of people they had once put all their trust and hope in. And we have ALL been there… you know, the relationship you desperately wanted to work out that doesn’t, and if that’s not bad enough, the way it ends seems unjustifiably cruel. And for a time, you’re so wrapped up in all of it and wrapped up in them that you can’t see the forest through the trees…  and even though they don’t deserve anything other than indifference from you, you still can’t seem to shake them, are still affected by everything they say and do to you, and it infiltrates and neutralizes EEEEEEVERY other area of your life. Yeah, that. It’s the PITS.  I know I’ve been there, and I bet you have, too.  So, way easier said than done, but for those of you who are in that less-than-enviable spot, why not make the decision that as of today, you are going to backpedal away from that toxic situation and not let it consume *one more second* of your time.  Because there are so many better days ahead!  Better yet, I think these are some VERY wise words:

Hang in there, Campers.  Things will get better – they ALWAYS, always do!  And in a little while, you will realize that said scoundrel was not a missed opportunity, but a major dodged bullet. And a stepping stone to someone/something better and more deserving of Most Wonderful You.

Lots of love,

  • Probably one of my favorites from you :). I found it to be uplifting, not depressing. You care about people and this shows how much!! You are a great writer and have a lot to offer the world :). Keep up the good work! I’m going to pass this on to someone very dear to me who could benefit from this!! ❤

    • Cori, heavens to Betsy, that is so sweet of you to say 🙂 Thank you so much. I was hesitant to put it out there because it’s not all unicorns and rainbows, but I thought it was important. And, I’m glad to hear that maybe it’ll help someone you love. Cuz DAMN, we HAVE all been there, right?? It’s like the black hole you feel like you may never be able to climb out of. And then later on, everything makes sense. Bah. Anyway – love you for reading! And love that little Liam!! XOXO

  • Well said Missy! I hope the person we both love will read and heed this quote!! Thanks for posting. All my love, all the time. Mum
