Stephanie’s Coming To LA!!!!!!!

Words cannot express the excitement that’s been building for months over the fact that my beloved co-blogger Stephy poo – truly one of my besties – will be in town in just TWO DAYS, PEOPLE.

It seems the older I get, the more meaningful my friendships become.  I think they fall into the same category as everything else in my twenties I kinda took for granted: Having all my loved ones alive and on the other end of a phone if I needed to hear their voices; a certain wanderlust and naivete with still being new to LA and to adulthood.

Well, I’m now at the point in my life where I’ve learned just how incredibly precious life and the people in it are.  Stephanie’s a big part of that!  Sooo, on the agenda for Spring Break 2012?

1) Scouring the stores of some of our favorite designers like Kristen Buckingham:

Nathan Turner:

And Kishani Perera:

2) Driving down Abbott Kinney in Venice to check out the furniture and clothing stores, such as Plantation (below):

3) Lounging and grilling out at her rented Venice pad, Chicago-style… except it’s March and we’ll be blocks from the beach:

4) St. Patty’s celebrations which hopefully won’t end in tears, arrests, or both. On tap: a delicious and sloppy brunch at brand new Santa Monica restaurant Brick + Mortar, followed by whoooo knowwwwsss.

Anywho, I can’t wait for you to get here, ya big floozy!  See you in t-minus two days. Mwah!

A Few Things We’re Feelin’

1. Inexpensive and (cough) hard-to-kill cacti bought at Home Depot. Behold the bold colors of these puppies.  Place them in an adorable elephant pot as seen here for an outdoor decor treat.

2. This new Safavieh Jefferson stand made of recycled teak. Bought on One Kings Lane for a smidge over $100, it adds a natural, beachy feel to our pad and is a great place to drop our keys and knick knacks upon entering.

3. This chunky tassel throw at West Elm, specifically that pretty aquamarine one. On my couch, on my guest bed… this knubby blanket is perfect for adding texture to a one-dimensional surface like a simple-patterned duvet cover or a couch.   I’ve been dying to get my hands on it ever since spotting in West Elm a few weeks ago, secretly willing people to buy for us as a late wedding gift.  HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT HINT

4. The most beautiful, heartwarmingly poignant wedding I have ever seen, courtesy of this gorgeous video.  When they dedicated it to “Nana”, I was toast.

5. Eye porn in the form of my new favorite blogger, Sincerely Jules. Seriously, I’ve been pinning the crap outta this girl on Pinterest and only recently found her blog. Glory be, her fashion taste is spot. on:

6. Yet another West Elm purchase:  Ledges cast in resin from West Elm, courtesy of artist Stephen Antonson:

7. Will Ferrell. In Spanish.

8. And without further ado, the piece de resistance: The newest member of our family. Affectionately named Trixie, she enjoys long drives along the coast, cute boys in the shape of dark Range Rovers, and the sounds of light rock from Coast 103.5 streaming through her cute little speakers.

Have a lovely day!
