I love me some all-white-everything. I once had a boyfriend who flipped through my closet like this: “White doily, white doily, WHITE DOILY!” If I could wear white tees + jeans every day, I would. Never have I ever purchased bedding that’s not all white… so call me boring, but is there *anything* fresher or more clean-clean than an all-white bedroom? Well… ALMOST all-white. Because imho, the key to nailing the crisp serenity of the all-white look (without going all sterile/hospital chic) is to inject ONE big, whimsical showstopper… Comme ça:
{LOUD & CRAZY HEADBOARD}
This playful, colorful headboard steals the show in an otherwise sea of white. Also (psst!) so easy: Plywood + batting + fab fabric + staple gun = you can do it, too. // photo via remodelista
{ORNATE BAROQUE BED}
I don’t know anyone except for Cinderella with a bed like this, but it’s a dream. // original source unknown, found here
{GIANT WOOD CARVING AS HEADBOARD}
You could also do this with a folding screen. // source unknown
{BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY}
This one is an all-time fave. The pom pom matelassé, the ethnic euros, the oversized frames with teeny text I wish I could read inside, the hanging shelf that looks like my hippy friend’s mom made it at Woodstock… So simple and so perfect. // image via vintage domino
{CEILING}
Did Michaelangelo paint that? DAY-UM. So pretty. The lines on the canopy bed are also stunning and totally make this room. // from the home of kay o’toole, via lonny
{MOROCCAN LANTERN + THE POM POMS THAT WERE ON MY ANKLE SOCKS AS A KID}
{AN INTRICATE TEXTILE}
This room has more layers than just white ones, but it still has some great takeaways, including: a) If the wall behind your bed steps out like this, a low wall-to-wall headboard is a baller solution… sconces attached to it also make me weep. b) One gorgeous statement textile at the foot of the bed goes a long way and carries the room. Notice how all the other colors – on the lead edge of the drapes, on the lampshape trim and the trim on the headboard, in the bench – they’re all pulled from the colors in that textile to tie things together. // via le petit chouchou
xoxo!
