Neutral Wonderland

Currently digging everything neutral, tonal, simple, structured and textured.  I had been eyeing so many things on Pinterest lately that were too good to be true, and when I piled all my favorites onto an inspiration board, they coincidentally came out like this…  which almost looks like what January feels like.  Icy and calm and quiet with kind of an edge, yet beautiful.  Yum.  I would like to toss on one of those frocks and sip a cocktail on that sofa.

Have a great week!

I’ve Got the Blues

But not the boo-hoo kind.  The kind where I want to drape my entire apartment – and my entire self – in every shade of blue.  Maybe this week’s penchant for cooler hues has something to do with the fact that it’s been raining for ONE week solid in Chicago, but truth be told,  blue has always felt more soothing and comforting to me than anything of the boo-hoo variety.  And this week, the photo above really fanned up my skirt…  The whole composition is off the chain (cowhide chairs…  that little antique pedestal table…  the two clear globe pendants…  the chartreuse arrangement…)  But oh.  All that against the backdrop of an Elvis-y leather winged loveseat/banquette?  Out of control.  Speaking of blue upholstery, I have been DYING to post a blue tufted velvet sofa up in my living room.  Maybe something to the tune of these bad boys:

Furthermore, I ran across the goodies below and was beside myself.  Take a gander:

Yves Klein painting as seen in Lonny

This little blue bamboo desk chair over at Designer’s Attic

Aegean-sea-colored OPI polish – perfect for fall, and a twist on the maroon vampy winter staple

Sigh.  This tile floor, as seen in Rue.  (Reminiscent of this post from yesteryear.)

Suede sapphire flats from J.Crew

A wondrous blue Suzani via Etsy

Christopher Spitzmiller blue lamp.  Everything that boy touches turns to gold.

Last but not least, an easy arrangement of mismatched blue glass bottles = solid décor on the cheap, homey.

Have a great weekend!

xoxo,
