Chin Up Buttercup

I realize motivation posts are supposed to go up on Motivation Mondays, and this one’s a smidge somber (sahhhree), but I wanted to share the quote below that I just ran across. There are a few special people I adore (you know who you are) who are in the throes of taking an emotional, unwarranted beating at the hand of people they had once put all their trust and hope in. And we have ALL been there… you know, the relationship you desperately wanted to work out that doesn’t, and if that’s not bad enough, the way it ends seems unjustifiably cruel. And for a time, you’re so wrapped up in all of it and wrapped up in them that you can’t see the forest through the trees…  and even though they don’t deserve anything other than indifference from you, you still can’t seem to shake them, are still affected by everything they say and do to you, and it infiltrates and neutralizes EEEEEEVERY other area of your life. Yeah, that. It’s the PITS.  I know I’ve been there, and I bet you have, too.  So, way easier said than done, but for those of you who are in that less-than-enviable spot, why not make the decision that as of today, you are going to backpedal away from that toxic situation and not let it consume *one more second* of your time.  Because there are so many better days ahead!  Better yet, I think these are some VERY wise words:

Hang in there, Campers.  Things will get better – they ALWAYS, always do!  And in a little while, you will realize that said scoundrel was not a missed opportunity, but a major dodged bullet. And a stepping stone to someone/something better and more deserving of Most Wonderful You.

Lots of love,

Motivation… Er, Tuesday

“Whatever you choose, however many roads you travel, I hope that you choose not to be a lady.  I hope you will find some way to break the rules and make a little trouble out there.  And I also hope that you will choose to make some of that trouble on behalf of women.” – Nora Ephron

T-minus 4 days until Stephanie and I are reunited in NY for a weekend of mischief, doing the Muncie Burris fight song, and trying not to pee ourselves from laughing so hard.  I can’t wait to see my favorite floozy.
