Sunday Sounds

This is dedicated to my dear, sweet co-blogette Steph, a lover of all things Sunday: croissants, the morning paper, a hot cup of coffee, her binky, and her morning walk with Gus Gus.  Steph, I know I’ve been promising to send a mix CD of chill songs for around, oh, 4 years.  Wellll I haven’t quite gotten to that yet.  But a close second is this smattering of songs, below, to play on quiet afternoons when you’re pitter pattering around your adorable Chicago abode.  Love ya girl!  Without further ado:

1. Aphrodite’s Dream by Nicola Conte

2. Don’t Look Back by Telepopmusik, feat Angela McCluskey

3. Spinning by Zero 7 – One of my all-time faves.

Happy spooning,

Song(s) Of The Week!

So.

There are two, count them two songs I can’t shake out of my head right now.  And they’re both very, very different.  One, mentioned in my post yesterday, is from the indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club, a group of young British blokes with a cultish following who are getting hot hot hot:

The other, from an artist I loathe, but whose newish song I just.can’t.get.enough.of. Yup, that’d be Chris Brown.

But.  Let’s get back to the youngins at Bombay Bicycle Club.  Billed as the “best new band in Britain”, these blokes are basically just out of high school:

And they were a huge hit at this summer’s music festivals.  Jump on the bandwagon, people!  You will NOT be disappointed.  Every song of theirs sounds completely different from the last.  Tipped off by my Brit colleague, below is currently my fave of theirs right now.  And it’s delicious:

And now for Mr. Brown’s newish song, Beautiful People.  It’s been stuck in my head for 3 days, thanks to hearing it out this weekend. It’s really unfortunate it’s from the biggest d*uche bag on the planet. It really is. Because now I need to put effort into finding a free version of it online. And that takes time. ANYWAY. I digress.  Listen for yourself.  Because really, it is the perfect running jam.

Hope you all have a snazzy day!

xoxo,
