Swoon, Howl, Steal, Drool, Mix, Sigh.

1. SWOON.

I swear, everything I’ve pinned lately has been 7 shades of emerald.  Maybe because it’s summertime (?)  Or maybe just cuz it’s a perfectly verdant pop of awesome to just about anything…  whether it’s a plain white outfit, a neutral wall, or a crisp white linen sofa.

2. HOWL.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAA.  This might be the funniest and most on-point thing I’ve seen in awhile.  I have said this about 857 times to my younger cousins over the years whenever they grumble about not having anything to do when no one is on Facebook or the Wii is broken.  Well…  sans the “fat little a$$” part.  Does that make me 857 years old?

3. STEAL.

…this.  Now.  It’s $59 at Express, way cooler in person, and the sequins are embellished on a little cotton skirt with a bit of stretch.  Meaning it’s uber comfortable.  Runs about 1 size larger than your regular size, FYI.  I’m 5’8″ / 145, and I ordered a M, which fits perfectly.

4. DROOL.

I love, I love, I love this coffee table featured on OKL today.  I want to put it in the beach house I don’t have, on gorgeous rug with lots of raspberry and lilac hues.  On the lanai.  And sit around it and drink a glass of sweet tea (vodka) with Blanche and Rose.

5. MIX.

…up your wardrobe.  This stripes & florals combo works:  a) because there’s navy and white in both to unify the palettes, but b) mostly because she’s wearing that outfit, not the other way around, and kicking it with confidence.  It’s summer.  Have some fun and mix it up.  Who cares?!

6.  SIGH.

This boy reminds me of #22 on this list.  He also bypassed my dad’s outreached goin-for-a-goodbye-handshake yesterday after their 1st introduction at brunch and went straight for the bear hug.  To the tune of, “bring it in, big guy.”  And then I died.

(Online) Yard Sale!

photo via Real Simple

Since I shouted my upcoming move from the rooftops earlier this week, now I’m gonna shamelessly use my blog to pimp out the stuff I’m not taking with me.  Cause who doesn’t love a good yard sale?  Below are the items up for grabs – shoot me an email at stephanie.m.ballard@gmail.com if you’d like to have any of them, and I’ll send you an invoice (shipping not included in prices below):

VINTAGE MYLAR BAMBOO WALLPAPER – 1.3 ROLLS – $50

Purchased from Chicago interior designer / shop owner.  A standard roll is about 28 inches wide by 13 feet long…  This roll is 28 inches wide by almost 17.5 feet long – so enough to do the inside of a closet (BANG)…

…a small powder room, entryway, swanky accent wall, drawer liners, framed wallpaper panels – OR – I have also seen designers use this paper to cover the top of a coffee table / piece of furniture, and then lay a sheet of glass on top.  For more ideas on how to use it, click HERE.  For the eBay listing, click HERE.

ROBERT ABBEY GENIE LAMPS – $150 each / $250 for pair (retail: $279 EACH)

I love these lamps, but I have so. many. lamps. that I don’t have a place for ’em in the new place.  They’re a gorgeous raspberry plum color, and are a great pop of color wherever I’ve ever put them.

SHABBY CHIC LAMP – $75

I had this beaut in my home office in Charleston and it’s been in storage since.  Purchased from glorious local haven Celadon Home for $169.  Gently used – tags are still on it.  Would be really sweet in a little girl’s or a teenager’s room, but would also be really chic in an office or on a bedside table.

ANTHROPOLOGIE COQO FLORAL RUG (4×6) – $50

Does have a few small spots (towards the bottom right corner in photo) but is otherwise thick, lush and in great condition.  I had this in my house in Charleston for a brief time…  so pretty.  You can always layer a thicker or smaller rug over a larger (more inexpensive) jute rug, like so:

And per the color genius herself, Cassandra Lavalle, you can pair tomato red with green/turquoise OR with lilac for an unexpected, chic combo:

POTTERY BARN CHINDI RUG (5×8) – $100

Ordered this new last year and literally (and unfortunately) used it for about a day.  Still have the packaging – in great condition.  It reminded me of something straight from the “Something’s Gotta Give” set.

LARGE ANTIQUE TOAST RACK / LETTER SORTER – $45

RUSTIC WHITE POTTERY BARN CANDLE HOLDERS – $40 for Set of 4
